As autumn embraces the rolling hills and small towns of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the leaves change to blazing colors and fall, leaving a somewhat spooky vista behind.   • The Headless Horseman’s Ball: Whether you enjoy dressing up or not, this once a year fundraising ball is a chance to enjoy and help preserve the history not only of Lancaster County but of the United States. The home of Revolutionary War general Edward Hand is opened up for a spooky autumn themed event on October 25, 2014 to celebrate history with food, drink, live and silent auctions and live music. Costumes are optional.
  • Mysterious, Melancholy, and Macabre: Looking for something fun to do in Lancaster on October 17th? Visit Ephrata Cloister for an evening of ghostly stories and folk tales in the shadows of the 200 year-old buildings of one of Lancaster Counties premiere historical sites.
  • Amish Country Mystery Tour: Presented by Strasburg Scooters, you can enjoy the colorful fall scenery and a little bit of the unexpected with the Amish Country Mystery Tour.
  • Happy Hauntings: Treat yourself and your kids to a day filled with excitement and fun Halloween activities at Dutch Wonderland during Happy Hauntings. With more than 30 themed rides, costume contests, games and more, you’ll have the time of your lives here on weekends from October 18 through November 2.
  • Flashlight Mazes:  It you thought a corn maze was tough during the daytime, you’ll have a blast tackling Cherry Crest Farm’s Amazing Maize Maze in the dark! Weekends through November 8, Cherry Crest Farm remains open until 10 p.m. so that you and your family can enjoy the slightly spooky maze by the light of the moon and your flashlights.
