New Shows in the New Year

While many tourists pass through Lancaster County simply for the rolling green countryside and the quaint Amish craft shops, there is still more to see! The area is alive with many cultural experiences, including performing arts and theater productions. From Lancaster City and Strasburg all the way to Ephrata, the nearby towns have much to offer for the theater buff.

 

  1. Sight and Sound

    On the schedule for this year, the Lancaster location of Sight and Sound is reviving their production of Jonah! Bringing familiar Bible stories to life with every performance, the impressive theater utilizes awe-inspiring special effects and live animals to immerse visitors in the performance.  (www.sight-sound.com)

  2. American Music Theater: Looking for something to jazz up your vacation? Check out the line-up of musical productions coming up at American Music Theater. With performances from country stars, Celtic Woman, Tony Bennett, and more highly-recognizable names, the theater offers something for every taste. (www.amtshows.com)
  3. Fulton Theater: This exciting theater season at the Fulton will start off with a bang – the classic Broadway show Annie Get Your Gun. A dazzling performance featuring the return of the 2 Ring Circus (previously seen in Wizard of Oz in 2015), the stately Fulton becomes the wild, wild west in this new showing of an old favorite.   4. Ephrata Performing Arts Center:  A non-profit, community based theater, the Ephrata Performing Arts Center (or EPAC) brings culture and vitality into the Lancaster County artistic community.   5. Rainbow Comedy Playhouse: Formerly known as the Rainbow Dinner Theater, this venue offers the ability to combine dinner and show into one experience.
